Well, hello there.

I'm Tara. And even when I'm not writing copy, I'm never not being a copywriter.

I can't help but notice words. They call me!

Quirky, unexpected words, ads I wish I'd thought of, head-turning phrases and dust-covered clichés. (I'm looking at you, 'Let's get Christmas all wrapped up.')

That photo is from 2014, and I guarantee Christmas will still be getting all wrapped up this year. Again.

Why, Sainsbury's, why?

Me and my sister* can't stand the word 'meal'.

Is it just us?

I put this photo on Facebook, with the caption 'this is so wrong'. She was the first one to like it.

Not everyone understands this.

*I sometimes break the rules of 'proper' writing. On purpose.

Anyway, if you actually want to know stuff about my life, here is some.

I've been a copywriter, or writer in some form, for around 20 years now. (Before that, I was a translator for the European Parliament).

I've worked in house as Copy Lead at Virgin Media and FitFlop, with agencies, and as a freelance copywriter for too many brands to mention.

Web copy is my spiritual home, but I can write pretty much anything. Try me.

A really bad photo of me with silly glasses when I worked as Copy Lead for a big web transformation project at Virgin Media.
Me and Paddington at Heathrow, about to fly to his homeland

Around 10 years ago, I had a big spiritual adventure in the Amazon jungle in Peru!

I went there for two months (but ended up living there for over a year.)

I did a shamanic apprenticeship. Bit different from being a freelance copywriter.

I worked with plant medicines, including Ayahuasca, and it is *no exaggeration* to say that it was completely life changing. (It really did change every single thing about my life. I'm not even kidding.)

I'll tell you more if you ask nicely. Or to find out more about spiritual me, check out shamanicawakening.com

These days I live on the edge of London, and spend a lot of time in the west of Ireland.

The garden and the kitchen are my other happy places.
